Stibbles Codex of Companions Makes the Familiar Extraordinary

Hello humble traveler and thanks for stopping by. Allow me to introduce you to an awesome project being created by some great people including Lead Designer Logan Reese, the YouTuber behind the Runesmith channel. Stibbles Codex of Companions is more than just a 5th Edition supplement book providing unique animal companions, familiars and pets along with new ways to use them at your table. There are some other great options as well, but to get into all of that you will have to keep reading.

New Arcane Tradition Beardomancy was Only the Beginning

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted share a video inspired by Beardomancy from Chance’s D&D Spellbook. In the video within the video Chance creates an animated short and goes over a homebrew spell for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, the wizard cantrip beard whip from our Beardomancy product. Ted and I worked on the project together for our April Patreon rewards in 2019. We wanted to do something fun to celebrate April Fool’s Day and over the years no small number of people proposed we come up with some beard related content. Beardomancy grew from these sentiments. It got unruly at times but with proper care we tamed the tangle of content and came up with a new Arcane Tradition and school of magic and replete with magical lore and mundane enrichment for beardomancers ready to drop right into your game.

Weave Foresight Brings Augmented Reality to the Storytelling Platform

When I first encountered the tabletop storytelling platform Weave I wore my enthusiasm on my sleeve. The uniquely designed game from Monocle Society combines a straightforward tabletop game with the best sort of roleplaying components tied together through smart technology and it’s still my No. 1 recommendation for accessible gaming. I’ve been happy to foster a friendly relationship with Kyle Kincade, Monocle Society founder and Weave creator and I love hearing from him whenever there’s exciting developments with the game. At PAX Unplugged in December I enjoyed a great time at the Monocle Society booth where Kyle and the team demoed Weave and spoke with curious visitors about some of the growth and new advancements of the game. That was only a couple of months ago and already Monocle Society announced another great milestone for Weave, making it even more accessible than before.

Find Solace in the Desert (and Ghosts!) at the Forgotten Oasis for 5E D&D

Salutations, nerds! It’s that part of the month again, and today I want to talk to you a little bit about the Forgotten Oasis, our upcoming Patreon reward content for February, so if you’re not subscribed to Patreon and you’re interested in receiving this content, go ahead and pop on over there, cause it’s right around the corner and we share early access to these Fifth Edition products before they make their way here to the store on the website. Every month we create new products with material for Game Masters and players alike, ready to drop right into your 5E D&D games. In January we uncovered Treasures of the Tundra, and now we’re switching things up and heading to a warmer climate in the desert.

DC Comics Getting Their D&D On with The Last God

Third party creators publish new content for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons every single day. Many times each day. Since I’ve written this sentence there’s probably been a dozen titles published online along with crowdfunded projects and the like. But it’s noteworthy to see the Warner Bros.-owned comic book publishers DC Comics announcing a sourcebook based on The Last God comic book series for D&D. The Last God: Tales from the Book of Ages debuts in comic book retailers and participating digital retailers on April 29.

Monsters of the City Cawood 5E D&D

Monsters of the City for 5E RPG is Live!

We all love monsters, right? So many gamers cite books like the Monster Manual as their entry into the tabletop roleplaying game hobby. Evocative art, fantastical creatures and the rich lore accompanying them led many nerds to discover Dungeons & Dragons. All of those elements leap out in the work of Cawood Publishing, an RPG publisher with more than 25 bestsellers of Fifth Edition content. Perhaps the most recognizable of these books is the Monsters series that began with Monsters of Feyland, followed up with Monsters of the Underworld. Both of those books are terrific, and show really wonderful growth. Monsters of Feyland is remarkable, and Monsters of the Underworld builds on the solid foundation presenting even richer material in what is essentially a monster book. And now the third book in the series is live on Kickstarter! I cannot wait to see what Monsters of the City adds to my 5E D&D games.

Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount for 5E D&D Revealed

A mysterious new title from Wizard of the Coast showed up on Amazon last week and now we know it’s the Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount! The D&D Team at WotC teams up with Critical Role’s Matt Mercer for an official collaboration on a new book detailing the continent of Wildemount where the second campaign of Critical Role takes place. Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount includes player options such as subclasses, magic items and more along with detailed information about the campaign setting, resources for Dungeon Masters and some really cool sounding new material for 5E D&D.

Whispers in the Dark Roars onto the 5E Scene with Investigative Horror Roleplaying

Fans of investigative horror roleplaying and fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons rejoice! Whispers in the Dark released over the weekend at DriveThru RPG and the well-crafted adaptation of the 5E system for this particular genre already sits at No. 5 on the bestseller list. Among the most popular titles under $5 Whispers in the Dark sits pretty at No. 1 and overall the digital product already claims silver bestseller status. The design team of Matt Corley and newly named Dungeon Masters Guild Adept M.T. Black produced the product under the Saturday Morning Scenarios banner, which takes the flexible 5E system in a new direction. I received an advance copy of the material before finalized layout and got a chance to lob some questions at Matt, so let’s get into it.

Treasures of the Tundra for 5E D&D Await Your Discovery

Salutations, nerds! I’m going to take a break here to talk to you about January’s Patreon reward content, aptly named Treasures of the Tundra. The idea this time around was to pull together content all about the players for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, and I feel like we’ve done a pretty excellent job of this if I do say so myself. Within you will find 17 new magic items, two beast mounts I affectionately refer to as the Big Woolly and the Small Woolly. Additionally, you’ll find 10 new poisons specifically geared to cold climate play, and a new playable race, the yaska (or, so the more irreverent folks might say, miniature yeti). You’ll also find four new playable subclasses for 5E D&D play.

Monocle Society Taking Weave Onward, Upward and Outward

PAX Unplugged offered no shortage of things to see, hear and do over the three over the Dec. 6-8 weekend in Philadelphia. Far and away the best part of any game convention is spending time with friends gathered from far and wide. When they have a booth showcasing their really terrific game along with juicy news about the future direction of it then it becomes a takeaway moment from the whole event. Monocle Society CEO Kyle Kincade, creator of Weave, checked all those boxes. I made a beeline for the Monocle Society booth when I hit the convention floor to say hello and see what was happening with this wonderful game. The booth was abuzz with visitors learning more about Weave and playing demos, and it was fun watching Kyle and the team captivate convention goers. And me! I’m just as enchanted by Weave as the next nerd.
