Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 9 —Spell List for Psionics

Greetings! Nate the Nerdarch here with my homebrew take on what would be included in a spell list for psionics in fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons. Below I have already delved into many of the specializations within the psionics class. I have included the links here for your convenience. Intro to Psionic and Psychic Warrior, Psychometabolist’s starting abilities and Class Features.  Psychoportationist, Psychokineticist,  Telepath, ,Claircognizant, Psychic Circuitry, Drams and Psychic Well. By design many of the powers in 5E D&D are going to be similar (or identical) to spells in the Player’s Handbook. I will include those below. Later I will separate them out into disciplines.

Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 8 — Psychic Well and Drams

Welcome to a quick explaination of psychic well and drams for my homebrew psionics and psychic warrior classes and rules for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons. Since most of the editions that included psionics had an entire book worth of information it should be no surprise to the initiated I already have several articles on the subject. For your convenience I have placed links to them here. You may want to check these first before moving onto the info on psychic well. Intro to Psionic and Psychic Warrior, Psychometabolist’s starting abilities and Class Features.  Psychoportationist, Psychokineticist,  Telepath, ,Claircognizant, and talks about the Psychic Circuitry.  Now that we have the back articles laid out for you. Here is a video that has some in depth explanation and props to help explain the Psychic Well and drams.

Welcome! This is a multipart series about my home brew psionics and psychic warrior classes and rules for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons. You may want to check these first: Intro to Psionics and Psychic Warrior, Psychometabolist’s starting abilities and Class Features.  Psychoportationist, Psychokineticist, and Telepath.

Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Customized Races — Subraces of the Underdark

Hey Nerdarchists out there,  it is time for yet another installment of customized 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons races. We have a request from Nerdarchist Ashton Smyth who is running an Underdark campaign and wanted my take on the duergar. Thanks for the great suggestion I hope you like it and agree with my take on it. And since I am doing the dark dwarves why not add the deep gnomes as well? I have included the full race write up so you can use this as an easy reference for creating your own duergar or svirfneblin character. Some changes needed to be made to the base races for thematic or mechanical purposes.

Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 5 — Telepath Class Features

Welcome Nerdarchists! This is a multipart series about my homebrew psionics and psychic warrior classes and rules for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons. You may want to check these first — Intro to Psionics and Psychic Warrior, Psychometabolist’s starting abilities and Class Features.  Psychoportationist, and Psychokineticist. I am slowly revealing the general psionics class features in each post because this is a work in progress. If I had it completed right now I would let you know. Really, I would. Since I was not yet struck by the full epiphany of what psionics in 5th edition dungeons and dragons should be you are just getting a bit at a time. This time, due to complete coincidence, or synchronicity, I am pairing the general psionics class feature Contact with the Telepath discipline. This is very convenient since Contact needs to be explained before the class Telepath will make any sense. Here is the video I did with the rest of the Nerdarchy crew where I asked them for their opinion on psionics for 5E D&D.

The Wemic — Monster and Playable Race for 5E D&D

Hello fellow Nerdarchists, today I want to bring you one of my favorite races from Dungeons & Dragons past — the wemic. I fell in love with the wemic back in my early days of playing second edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. When I got my hands on the Complete Book of Humanoids I played many of those races and wemic was absolutely my favorite. You have to admit the wemic is a realy cool race. So I am proud to give you my take on the wemic both as a monster and a playable race.

Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 4 — Psychokineticist Class Features

WARNING! WARNING! Homebrew Disclaimer: While they may lift things without raising their hands and light things on fire with their mind these are Kineticists inspired by Dungeons & Dragons as well as my own input on what this discipline should be about. My goal for psionics and Psychic Warrior is combining the eloquence of second edition AD&D and the game balance of 3.5 D&D with the streamlined playability and feel of 5E D&D. I hope this all simplifies down to a playable class on par with the other 12 classes and that DMs and players won’t run into the woods screaming in terror when they read it.

Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 2 — Class Features Continued

If you are just joining me then you may be asking yourself, “fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons psionics and Psychic Warrior class features continued? When did psionics for 5E D&D begin?!” Truthfully it hasn’t officially begun but I have been a psionics fan since second edition AD&D and I refuse to be the naysayer about the new edition’s psionics when they come out with it. Instead of waiting to nay I am coming out with my homebrew psionics and Psychic Warrior before anything official comes out. As this is part 3 you may want to check these out first, Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 1 — The Intro and Psionics and Psychic Warrior in 5E D&D Part 2 — Class Features. Now on to Psychoportation.

I have a condition. The make my own rules condition. It reasserted itself when I read D&D 5e: Rules Designed to be Broken: A Roleplaying Game Philosophy by Falsteph. I heartily agree that, unintentionally or not, the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons team gave us enough information that we can break those rules where we see fit. We gained the required insight into the overall theme of the rules and gameplay to manipulate it to our liking. Next I started with my write up of Spelljammer 5th Ed. It was just a short attempt to be prepared for the Spelljammer game Nerdarchist Dave ran last week. Now it is on to my favorite class in the whole of the D&D multiverse, psionicist.

I have a condition. The make my own rules condition. It reasserted itself when I read D&D 5e: Rules Designed to be Broken: A Roleplaying Game Philosophy by Falsteph. I heartily agree that the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons team gave us enough information to the point we can break those rules where we see fit. We gained the required insight into the overall theme of the rules and gameplay to manipulate it to our liking. Next, I started with my write up of Spelljammer 5th Ed. It was just a short attempt to be prepared for the Spelljammer game Nerdarchist Dave is running this week. Now it is on to my favorite class in the whole of D&D multiverse — Psionicist. This is not to say the development staff at Wizards of the Coast aren’t good people or they aren’t great designers but it is to say I am so much of a fan of psionics that I can’t wait.
