Celebrate International Tabletop Day with a Free Download of D&D Stuff

Empowering Your D&D Spells with Shadow Magic from Kobold Press
RPG Crate Unboxing - March 2018

In 2017, some folks on the Nerdarchy team put together a free adventure for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons in recognition of International Tabletop Day. And for 2018 we’re at it again, and stepping up our game! To coincide with the revamp and relaunch of our Patreon rewards, we’re giving away a free download package of special rewards to everyone in the RPG community to help celebrate this most special of days on April 28. Empusia, Curator of Souls is a total package of D&D magic items, monsters, allies, enemies, dynamic and lost lore.

Free D&D content for International Tabletop Day

Available for free download in the Nerdarchy store, Empusia, Curator of Souls is a collection of homebrew content for D&D showcasing the assortment of rewards we share each and every month with patrons. This free download package was created exclusively to give away though, above and beyond our usual monthly creations. You can find a link below to this and 2017’s free download adventure Arbor Jade.

Nerdarchy would not be what it is without the support of our community all over the world who inspire us to continue creating and sharing content and engaging with us everywhere. Watching and leaving comments on our videos, joining us for our weekday live chats with awesome folks doing creative work in the RPG niche, visiting and reading posts here on the website, interacting with us on social media and of course playing right along with us in online fan games and at conventions.

Because we are constantly striving to improve our efforts, we’re relaunching our Patreon rewards in a new direction. Patrons who have come to expect the ongoing monthly reward tiers of Mage Forge, Monster Menagerie, Friend or Foe, Terrible Terrain and Lost Lore will continue to receive these rewards, but going forward we are working with professional writers and creators to create this content.

We’re sharing some of our favorite videos with a rotating selection of some of today’s most dynamic, exciting writers and artists to inspire their own creativity. They’ll take our videos and put their own spin on the ideas and concepts, then our in-house design team will package everything together in an exciting new style and format to send out each and every month.

Empusia, Curator of Souls is based on the Devil’s Museum of the Macabre video below where we explore a different kind of adventuring location – a museum with a fiendish curator filled with the twisted and sinister artistic creations of D&D devils. For this package, Sean McGovern came up with incredible new magic items, creatures, encounters and lore.

“Cold, elegant, and beautiful, Empusia is a devil whose life is devoted to using art for the purposes of evil. As one of the many rabblekin archdevils on the first layer of the Nine Hells, Empusia schemes in a remote art gallery far removed from the other would-be despots and their pit fiend lackeys. Empusia utilizes the bodies of paralyzed mortals as easels, desks and chairs. All of the mortals are conscious and suffering, many of whom foolishly signed their soul over to the archdevil for a minor boon.”

We were absolutely blown away with Sean’s creations. From the legendary creature Empusia herself to her Museum of the Macabre that will test every skill, trick and ability of adventurers who visit, we’re super excited about this package and the rest of the content we’ve got set to share in the next few months.

With International Tabletop Day coming up soon on April 28, we thought it would be cool to give away one of these packages for free download to contribute something to the awesome occasion. Now in its seventh year the daylong ITTD event highlights gaming events, charity fundraising and collaborative entertainment. So we selected the Empusia, Curator of Souls for a free download giveaway to coincide. Take your adventuring party for a tour on International Tabletop Day and let us know what you think.
