Quest RPG is Perfect for a Live Roleplay Stream and You’ll Never Guess Why

Recently on Nerdarchy Live we completed Ingest Quest 2, hosted by our own beloved Nerditor Doug. Quest RPG was the system powering our romp through culinary weird space and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit skeptical of this new system. However by the end of everything, I think Quest RPG is one of the best systems out there for running an entertaining game stream. Let’s explore some takeaways from the game and what Quest RPG does really well to make itself an ideal system for roleplay heavy groups and thus, conducive to a great stream game.

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Rage Singer

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted bang their heads together and come up with a barbarian and wizard combo for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons with the Rage Singer character build. Metal health will drive you mad, after all. We want it louder, more power for a 5E D&D character who’s gonna rock it till it strikes the hour. Let’s get into it.

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Combat Medic

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted fulfilled a request to come up with the ultimate healer for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons with the Combat Medic character build. Pointing the Patreon supporter who sent the request towards a 20th level Life Domain cleric seemed a bit boring so they spiced things up for the 5E D&D Combat Medic, which went on to become a silver best seller. Let’s get into it.

D&D Ideas — Acid

Welcome once again to the weekly newsletter. This week’s topic is acid, which we discussed in our weekly live chat. We hangout every Monday evening at 8 p.m. EST on Nerdarchy Live to talk about D&D, RPGs, gaming, life and whatever nerdy stuff comes up. Speaking of acid in Balance an innocent sprite’s existence literally hangs in the balance from a sadistic trap. Embracing the Core Principle of Quest RPG Makes a Guide’s Life Fun, Rewarding and Easy

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted share their experience and a general overview of playing Quest RPG. I fell in love with this whimsical RPG a while back and when my turn in the hot seat came around on our Tuesday night games at Nerdarchy Live I couldn’t wait to Guide the group through creating a story with Quest RPG. In the video the guys discuss their impression of the game from the player side of things and mention their curiosity about the nuance of being the Guide — Quest’s iteration of a Game Master. I’m the Guide for the group in which they play and as a follow up to the initial thoughts I shared after first discovering this wonderful RPG I aim to do so right now. Let’s get into it.

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Spell Savant

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted took on a request to create the ultimate cantrip master for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons as the Spell Savant character build. The concept behind this 5E D&D character build is getting as many cantrips as possible without just simply multiclassing into every spellcasting class — bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer, warlock and wizard — plus acquiring as much variety as possible in damage types and effects. Let’s get into it.

D&D Ideas — Thunder & Lightning

Welcome once again to the weekly newsletter. This week’s topic is thunder & lightning, which we discussed in our weekly live chat. We hangout every Monday evening at 8 p.m. EST on Nerdarchy Live to talk about D&D, RPGs, gaming, life and whatever nerdy stuff comes up. Speaking of thunder & lightning these foreboding phenomenon may signal a successfully solved puzzle or herald something ominous for adventurers. Why not both? You can get the Nerdarchy Newsletter delivered to your inbox each week, along with updates and info on how to game with Nerdarchy plus snag a FREE GIFT by signing up here.

mtg adventures in the forgotten realms werewolf pack leader

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Pack Master

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted sink their teeth into a fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons Pack Master character build. The inspiration for this character comes by way of The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. More specifically a passage from the book that reads, “For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.” This 5E D&D character is all about establishing a powerful connection with wolves whether through communication, summoning or straight up becoming a wolf themselves! Let’s get into it.

D&D Ideas — Cold

Welcome once again to the weekly newsletter. This week’s topic is cold, which we discussed in our weekly live chat. We hangout every Monday evening at 8 p.m. EST on Nerdarchy Live to talk about D&D, RPGs, gaming, life and whatever nerdy stuff comes up. Speaking of cold in Gang of One a highly intelligent chimera uses the cold environment, deception and flight to assail heroes with all its cunning along with 54 other dynamic scenarios in Out of the Box. You can get the Nerdarchy Newsletter delivered to your inbox each week, along with updates and info on how to game with Nerdarchy plus snag a FREE GIFT by signing up here.

Multiclassing Should Always be Allowed in a 5E D&D

Multiclassing in fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons always seems to polarize a Dungeon Master when it comes up. I’ll admit I’m no exception to this rule. In fact I’m so much in favor of multiclassing in 5E D&D I sometimes ask my players why they aren’t multiclassing. They say the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence but for my part, my grass is looking pretty darn green. Regardless of what side of the multiclassing fence you find yourself on I’m going to try to convince you my grass is clearly the greenest.

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Haunted Rogue

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted skulk through the shadows to create a fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons Haunted Rogue character build. This character emerged through a request from one of our Patreon supporters. The request was simple: “How would you build a rogue with Shadow Magic Sorcerous Origin multiclass?” This leaves a lot of room for flexibility. Leaning hard into an
affinity for gloom this shadowy sneaker emerged with a compelling narrative and this 5E D&D character became a Silver Best Seller very quickly. Let’s get into it.

D&D Ideas — Fire

Welcome once again to the weekly newsletter. This week’s topic is fire, which we discussed in our weekly live chat. We hangout every Monday evening at 8 p.m. EST on Nerdarchy Live to talk about D&D, RPGs, gaming, life and whatever nerdy stuff comes up. Speaking of fire in Fire for Effect two monsters, tactically minded and ruthless in combat, work together to create a dangerous fighting force made even more perilous in a confined setting where collateral damage is a very real concern. You can get the Nerdarchy Newsletter delivered to your inbox each week, along with updates and info on how to game with Nerdarchy plus snag a FREE GIFT by signing up here.

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as a Dwarven Tunnel Runner

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted explores the Underdark for a fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons Dwarven Tunnel Runner character build. Life in the Underdark is challenging to say the least. Dangerous creatures lurk in lightless caverns while civilizations threaten each other for dominance. The most important rule to remember is never let the enemy get the drop on you! The tunnel runner serves an important function and fulfilling their duty makes them distant from their society as this 5E D&D character lives and operates alone in the wilds. Let’s delve into it.

vlaakith the lich queen githyanki necromancer 5E D&D

Play Your Next 5E D&D Game as the Master of Undeath

Over at Nerdarchy the YouTube channel Nerdarchists Dave and Ted delved into the necromantic arts for a fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons Master of Undeath character build. It’s no buried secret — we maintain that necromancy as a school of magic is not inherently evil but raising the dead as skeletons, zombies and other undead certainly is. All philosophical discussion aside it’s still fun to create a 5E D&D necromancer character who in turn creates undead minions. We wanted to see how many shambling corpses we could get going. Let the reanimation begin!
