RPG Play Tests, Gaming Unboxings, and Dungeons and Dragons- 1-31-2016 Nerdy News and Weekly Digest Blog, YouTube, and Other Nerdy Goings Ons
Hello and well met traveler of the internet,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another week of our Nerdy News. I am bouncing back and forth between sportsing with the Super Bowl and updating our weekly nerdy goings ons. This week has been a good week for Nerdarchy Gaming. We ran our Night Terrors game with the fans thanks to Nate the Nerdarch. Then we were lucky enough to host an alpha play test by Nelson of Infinite RolePlay and his Saturday Morning Dungeons and Dragons game.
Hello and well met travelers of the Internet,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another week’s nerdy news. Hope everyone got the their gaming in for the week. Last night was the Star Wars RPG from Fantasy Flight Games for Us. We had a pretty shocking ending to the session. The Star Was RPG game play will go up next week end. We were down one Jedi, but you know what they say the show must go on.
Hello and well met Internet Traveler,
Nerdarchist Dave here with a special edition of our weekly Nerdy News. January has been quite the month for news coming out of Wizards of the Coast (WOTC). We can now create and sell products for Forgotten Realms and generic D&D material through the Dungeon Masters Guild with some restrictions.
Than there is the release of the OGL. This is more restrictive in what you can include in your products, but gives far more freedom to what you can do with that material. Whether it’s creating products for 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons or ripping the mechanics out of the game in order to make a brand new d20 5e version of whatever you like.
Of course there is a video for the Dungeon Masters Guild and the OGL below.
There seems to be a subscription box service for just about everything nowadays, from crafts to wines to all kinds of foods and more. There are even a number of different subscription boxes for the nerd or geek in all of us. But what about tabletop role playing gamers?
Before January 18, the pickings seemed pretty slim, but that was the launch date for Dungeon Crate, a monthly subscription box service with a focus on role players and the games we love.
What are subscription boxes?
Hello and well met internet travelers,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another weekly edition of the nerdy news. Before getting into things I’d like take a moment to say how sad I am at Alan Rickman and David Bowies passing. They both brought some great nerd moments into many of our lives. This weekend during my 5e D&D games I incorporated their works into my adventure. Just my small way of saying good bye. Now onto something cheerier.
Last week was a huge week for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons the biggest since it launched and perhaps for the industry as a whole. Wizards of the Coast has made another landmark contribution to our hobby. First with launching the original Open Gaming License for 3rd edition Dungeons and Dragons back in 2000 and again with the Dungeon Masters Guild.

The reason I’m bringing this up because I’m so excited over what we have been able to accomplish this past year with the help of all of you fine nerds.

Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars, and Other Tabletop RPG Discussions- Nerdarchy’s Nerdy News and Weekly Digest
Hello and well met travelers,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another week in Nerdarchy. Hope all is well with you and yours it’s that hectic time of year known as the holidays. Sadly Nerdarchy only has two games scheduled for December, live in person games anyway. We’ve got our Star Wars game being run by Scott Garibay. The roster for that game so far is Ted, Just Bart from the Nerdarchy Saves the World game, Nate, my son David, and myself.
Welcome and well met travelers of the internet.
Nerdarchist Dave here back after missing this post last week. The first thing I wanna do is say how thankful Nerdarchy are for all of you and we hope those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving had an awesome one.
Last week was a crazy week of computer/internet woes. We had to move Nerdarchy.com from one type of hosting to another and we kind of blew it up like Alderaan. So we lost a couple of articles, but it could been a lot worse. Though in a week’s time span I probably spent about 7 hours on the phone with GoDaddy tech support. I’m super happy with them. They really did go out of their way to help me solve the issues.

Hello and well met traveler,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another edition of our weekly digest and news. As always we’ve got everything we did last week conveniently located below. But before I get into all of that we have some other things to discuss.
First I’ve started something new over on our Facebook page that people seem excited for me to continue with. I’m going to be doing impromptu videos on the FB platform. They’ll only be a minute or two long. So in that short of time what will the purpose of these videos be you might be wondering.
Here is the short list-
- Quick RPG thoughts
- Fast Dungeon Master tips and advice
- Insights into myself and my personal life
- I’m gonna ask you questions
Character Builds, Witch Hunter 5E D&D Classes, and a Custom RPG Race- Nerdarchy’s Nerdy News and Weekly Digest
Hello and Well met traveller,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another week of nerdy goodness. Hope all is well. Nerdarchy has survived another Halloween and even ran our 1st Google Hangout holiday themed game.
The game was based off the Witch Hunter class created by Matt Mercer of Critical Role and Geek and Sundry.
Our goal aside from a Halloween themed game was to play test all three archetypes of this custom class based off of the Last Witch Hunter movie starring Vin Diesel. It was a great game where we were able to get our two regular contributors Ty Jonhston and Art Wood into a Dungeons and Dragons game with us.
Hello and well met traveler of the internet,
Nerdarchist Dave here with another week in Nerdarchy.
Nerdarchy Attends South Jersey GeekFest
We’ve been a little busy this past week preparing to run games at the Fall 2015 South Jersey GeekFest. I’d call it a success with four games run in a 7 hour window.
We had players ranging from the ages of tweens up to baby boomers. There was a grand total of sixteen gamers to grace our tables. We had kids that had never played a tabletop RPG to old school gamers that haven’t touched a 20 sided die since AD&D. Sure we didn’t set any records or anything, but we had fun doing it and got to meet more gamers.
There were even a few folks that stopped in just to chat and reminisce about when they used game. Here are a couple pics from GeekFest.
