Kickstarter Korner for July 2018, Week 4
Each week during the Quests & Adventures live chat, Saturday at 2 p.m. eastern, Nerdarchists Dave and Ted and Nate the Nerdarch hang out live with fans from the Nerdarchy YouTube channel. It’s a chance to share announcements and news, answer questions from the live chat and generally just hang out and talk nerdy with the Nerdarchy community.
In the description of each weekly video, Nerdarchist Ted compiles a list and links to all the videos and website content from the week. But he also shares a selection of cool Kickstarter campaigns. As an avid Kickstarter supporter, he’s happy to share his favorite RPG and gaming-related Kickstarters with you, the Nerdarchy community. Enjoy!

Maze of the Blue Medusa is a stunning work. A megadungeon with rich texture and dripping with style, plus incredible layout and ease of use. [Art by Zak Sabbath; text by Patrick Stuart and Zak Sabbath]
Protip: This is more of a hot tip than a gaming tip. Satyr Press, publishers of Maze of the Blue Medusa, are offering a second printing of the hardcover book available for preorder right now! At the time of this writing, there are 2022 left over at the Satyr Press website. Maze of the Blue Medusa is an acclaimed megadungeon adventure with art by Zak Sabbath and written by Patrick Stuart and Zak Sabbath. It won two Ennie Awards in 2016: a gold award for best electronic book and a silver award for best cartography and best writing.
The book itself is a masterclass in print products, with sewn binding, 288 full-color pages, full-color endpapers featuring tables, maps, and art, foil stamping on the front cover and spine, hand-tipped debossed images on the front and back covers, a jet black cloth cover, FSC-certified interior paper stock, and a bookmark ribbon. It is written to be system-agnostic, so you can use it for pretty much any tabletop RPG.
Design and layout of the adventure is top notch. Organization and ease of use are incredible, and the premise and style for the megadungeon is really terrific. Maze of the Blue Medusa shot to the top of my must-run adventures very quickly. I heard Jim Davis from Web DM off-handedly mention it in one of their videos, and the title intrigued me enough to find out more about it.
At the time, the hardcover was unavailable so I got the deluxe PDF (a really awesome product on its own). It’s one of those adventure books that’s just fun to read through. Zak’s art is compelling and stylish, and the various entities and factions in the dungeon along with the puzzles, encounters and lore capture your imagination.
I can’t wait to get my copy of Maze of the Blue Medusa! I highly recommend checking it out and taking advantage of this second printing opportunity to add it to your own collection, or at least buying a copy of the PDF, which is only $5 ($10 for the deluxe version). That’s a phenomenal bargain.
