Heroforge Adventure Calendar December 2022

Nerdarchy Pax Unplugged 2022 Experience
D&D Ideas -- Familiars

D&D Minis If you are not aware, Hero Forge® celebrates December by upping their game. Normally they drop new options every Tuesday, but in December they drop new content Daily to bring joy to the end of the year and revel in style. Check them out at Heroforge.com or see it all unfold on their Facebook page.

Some of the highlights that have been released so far include items of whimsy, items of the aforementioned style, items to make your minis scary, and some things that are just so cool.

As I have mentioned before, I delight in spending time with Hero Forge® so that I can better see what my character looks like in the games that I play. I even make certain NPCs to either add the figure to the table, and my collection, or just to showcase what the NPC looks like. I have used Hero Forge ® minis as main villains several times and it has been a blast.

Hero Forge ® started off the month of December with some new handheld items, polyhedral dice. With so many of us gamers being true dice goblins, you can now add that love of dice right into your mini. I made a mini of myself before these dice were available and I went with the lone oversized d20. If you check out other articles on the site you can find cool ways to use those dice on your minis.

If we jump to the 4th we see an item of whimsy. Perhaps you are playing a looney tunes style game, perhaps you have gone full blown cartoon antics and you just need a banana gun. The great part of Hero Forge® and Role Playing Games in general is that it can reward creativity and imagination. Perhaps you are a lover of fruit, perhaps you are fey and have fruit that colored differently or whatever else you are able to come up with the banana gun, could be just a banana gun, a regular banana, a magical fruit Hero Forgefocus for a spellcaster, or a new fruit that has its own rule set. How do you imagine it being?

On Dec 9th we get to get to that style. Look at the picture and that slick backed hair. With all the charisma based character builds it is nice to have some more options for characters that want to look good.

Dec 14th gives us Skull Pauldrons or as they call them Skulldrons. Whether you are playing a necromancer, a cleric of Death or any manner of scary character or NPC nothing sets people off more than a skull motif. I am playing a Death domain Cleric in an upcoming campaign and these pauldrons are pretty damn sweet for such a character.

Released, Dec 18th, is the prehistoric shell. If you are playing a gnarly turtle/or turtle person or you haveDungeons and Dragons an exotic shield that you wear on your back, this pointy masterpiece looks amazing. Just check out that photo. In celebration of such, let’s make that shield.

Let’s Make A D&D Magic Items

Prehistoric Shield

(Rare shield)

This shield looks like something from another age. Made of an entire shell, this shell is spiked on its edges. This +1 Shield has three charges. You can spend a charge as a reaction when a creature within 5 D&D Miniaturesfeet misses you with an attack. The target takes 1d6+1 piercing damage per charge spent. It regains all charges at dawn.

In addition to above if you wear the shield on your back, and not have it equipped, you gain a +1 to your armor class. You cannot gain this benefit if you are using another shield.

Thanks for reading. Until Next Time, Stay Nerdy!
