Dragon Armies Wage War in D&D Direct Dragonlance Trailer for 5E D&D
The D&D Direct press kit material related to Dragonlance included only this teaser trailer. After the live streamed public event and private press events related to the astonishing deluge of announcements we’ll have more details. The standout feature for me in this trailer is the voice work from Shohreh Aghdashloo. I’m almost certain anyway. She’s got a very distinctive voice and I’ve enjoyed her work in the Mass Effect series and The Expanse quite a lot.
This Dragonlance trailer does a fantastic job evoking the dark theme of war hanging over the world of Krynn from the classic novels and adventures and I’ll go so far as to say takes it up a notch. Did you hear that dragon roar? I loved many of the Dragonlance novels as a kid and played the AD&D adventure series, and after just finishing a playthrough of Mass Effect Legendary Edition the potential to play a campaign as soldiers thrust into a desperate war against a seemingly impossible force sounds pretty awesome to me.
The end of the trailer showing the endless sea of Dragon Armies looks epic as hell and you’ll notice there’s two distinct Dragonlance products — an adventure book called Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen and a battle game called Dragonlance: Warriors of Krynn.
