Help out the D&D Community through DMs Guild

Disrupting the Status Quo in Established Campaign Settings
D&D Party Composition -- Playing an All Bard Party

Part of my worldview is there’s always good things going on in the world, and there’s always bad things going on in the world, and I do my best to focus on the good. I saw this morning on Twitter a creator in our D&D community is experiencing a rough patch. Creator Cat Evans had some home repair troubles and they reached out for a helping hand through the content they’ve created at the DMs Guild. Cat’s books include material for both players and Dungeon Masters of fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, so there’s something for everyone. Take a look and help Cat out by discovering cool new content for your 5E D&D games at the same time. See? Something bad happens and you focus on the good. You can find all 19 of their DMs Guild titles here.

D&D community dms guildD&D Designer Dan Dillon sums it up perfectly. We love fun, cool 5E D&D material and helping out the D&D community so this is an epic win situation. Here’s a quick rundown of content Cat’s created and contributed to from the DMs Guild.

  • Bearthazar’s House of Familiars. Over 50 new familiars, companions and critters for your 5E D&D game.
  • Jolene — or, The Beauty From Beyond the Stars. An adventure combining cosmic horror, action, secret societies and creatures from beyond the stars set in a 19th-century Earth analog.
  • Ravenloft Gazetteer: Kalidnay. Campaign guide to a corrupt ecological hellscape of ash, bones and sand.
  • Grandmother Crookbesom’s Book of Hags. 13 hag profiles and covens with lore, adventure hooks and unique abilities, 3 new hag types, weird magic and new creatures. Currently on sale for Halloween, marked down 25%!
  • Villains & Lairs II. 28 villainous NPCs, maps, and lair details with quests, one shots, magic items and more.
  • Oath of the Ally. Staunch, noble, compassionate and open-hearted paladins always there to stand between their friends and danger, lift them up and make their voices heard.
  • Extraordinary Inns & Taverns. 10 strange, unique and extraordinary taverns set in a variety of locations including the Underdark with everything you need to drop right into your games.
  • The Hag: A Playable Race. Halloween is fast approaching and playing a hag character for a holiday one shot sounds fun to me.
  • Kendal Santor’s Treatise on the Mournland. A comprehensive guide to the wonders and perils of what remains of the former nation of Cyre in Eberron. New monsters, guides for creating your own monsters and living spells, adventure hooks, an 18″ x 24″ full color map and more. If you’re into Eberron this sounds like a great addition to your collection.
  • Encounters on the Savage Seas II. 16 adventures with NPCs, locations, new creatures and magic items for nautical campaigns. There’s a 25-page preview you can check out too.
  • The Dragon-Touched: A Playable Race. Not just for sorcerers anymore, there’s rules for the dragon-touched race and five subraces based on the metallic dragons.
  • MISTKICKERS: Ravenloft Sidekicks. A DMs Guild community project of Gothic horror sidekicks. There’s 20 archetypes like occult detective, hunched assistant and judgmental relative. I like sidekicks in 5E D&D a lot and this looks like a really fun book.
  • Sidekicks of Eberron. More sidekicks, woo! Nine new ones in here with original art and rules for creating Dragonmarked sidekicks. I’ll take one Mark of Healing sidekick, please.
  • The Ghostly Library. Another perfect Halloween book and also on sale for 25% off right now! A sinister mystery set in a 19th-century Earth analog where the lurking terrors of Poe, Lovecraft and more are true.
  • In the Name of Love. A one-shot adventure set in the Feywild for 4th-6th level characters using monsters from Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes. I like how they mention fights in this adventure are deadly, but avoidable.
  • The White Lady. This wintry adventure is seasonal without being festive set in a small town of perpetual ice where villagers are victims of a curse laid by a spirit of frost.
  • Warlock Patron: The Hag. More hag goodness! Warlocks with hag patrons have a knack for control, enchantment and geas along with unsettling hag powers. I dig it.
  • Ranger Conclave: The Mouser. First off kudos for sticking with the Conclave concept for rangers. As a cat steward myself I’m compelled to like this. Rangers are awesome and a cat-themed ranger sounds fun as a ball of yarn. This one is also marked down 25% for Halloween at the moment.
  • Rebirth. A one-shot adventure for four to six 7th-9th level characters. There’s an earthquake, noxious spores and frenzied flesh-eating villagers. I don’t know if benadryl is gonna cut it. Another Halloween sale book for 25% off at the moment.
