WizKids Miniatures Bring Eberron: Rising from the Last War to Life

Speculating on Mythic Odysseys of Theros for 5E D&D
Stealth 101 -- 5E D&D 5E Skills and Skill Checks

Eberron is an amazing world and campaign setting for fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons, with many outstanding areas to play in and explore. Today I want to share something about heroes, monsters and other creatures of the world and representing them on the tabletop with D&D Icons of the Realms: Eberron: Rising From The Last War from WizKids. WizKids has been creating fantastic miniatures for a very long time. I have been a fan from the beginning. With Eberron hosting a number of miniatures that typically fall outside of the typical realm of what normal fantasy roleplaying games get into, we get a number of miniatures in the Eberron: Rising From the Last War set likely to be unique to our collection.

Exploring Eberron through miniatures

Eberron hosts an area with controlled undead so we of course are going to get access to new undead miniatures. It’s got your Karnath covered. We all know or have possibly heard about the jungles of Xendrik and its dinosaur inhabitants. And you guessed it — there’s some dinosaurs. The mysterious quori, yeah, I see at least three different options.

But for those of you looking to make a new hero and take it into battle Eberron: Rising from the Last War has got you covered there as well. With cool new races like the kalashtar and the ever present warforged you have plenty of new options. But for those of you out there looking to get in on the new character class released in official capacity by the book of the same name there’s artificer models as well. And if there were not enough they have the iron defender miniature to tag along when you can make one.

Lastly I want to point out one of the amazing things Eberron unleashed onto D&D players and that is living spells. Wizkids helps out Dungeon Masters out there as well. You have to check out Living Cloudkill and Living Lightning bolt. I can’t wait to release these upon my players now that I have the miniatures to go along with them.

In recent years Wizkids began adding in a premium set with every launch. I love this as it gives us fans the chance to get a cool model or miniatures without it being buried in some blind purchase. In Eberron: Rising from the Last War we of course get something that fits the setting perfectly. The premium set is a sky coach. This coach comes with 4 soarsleds along with a base and risers to bring some serious height. The sky coach comes with incredible detail with six multi-articulated sails. With the ability to adjust the sails you can have fun fiddling with the model. This makes me think of Star Wars and putting “foils in attack position.” You get a gang plank and a boarding ladder. The gang plank is sized to have 3 miniatures on the gangplank usable if you have 2 or more sets or you have a dock set up. The ladder is actually slotted to hold a standard 1 inch base so you can actually have someone climbing the ladder while the coach is moving. If that were not enough the deck of the ship comes off and the ladder and gang plank fit inside making storage even easier. All of this with the ship sitting on a clear 4 inch base. With this I would certainly say having 2 or three of these would lead to some very fun adventures and some great combat potential.

Lastly those cool soarsleds are great for use as ways to mark your flying miniatures if you do not already have some kind of combat stands. If you want to pick some up for yourself you can grab them here.
