Spice Up Your 5E D&D Dwarves with Ring Magic from the Kobold Press Deep Magic Series

Into the Deep Magic once again my friends. Kobold Press is killing it with their deep magic series. This time we have little magic for 5E D&D dwarves. It’s all about enchanting rings to draw on arcane power. Deep Magic

From the Drive-Tru-RPG product Page:

Deep Magic of the Dwarf-Rings!

Since the dawn of the world, dwarven smiths have fashioned rings of surpassing beauty — but it is not for the sake of beauty alone that these rings are made. There is power in them, which can be unlocked by the wise. Ring magic practitioners channel their magic through these rune-etched metal bands, increasing the devastation wreaked upon their foes; and can even imbue them with spells that someone else can unleash later.

Deep Magic: Ring Magic brings the secrets of ring magic into your 5e campaign, featuring:

  • New ring magic feats, and a new Ring Warden arcane tradition
  • 12 new spells, including enchant ring, curse ring, and create ring servant (with monster stats for this new construct), and more!
  • New magic items: molten fire forge, oathbound ring, warden’s link, and Karrek’s Bastion
  • The history of ring magic, the dwarves who are its masters, and the secrets of their legendary stronghold

Journey deep within the earth, to places where molten rock flows like rivers, and the sounds of hammers never cease. Here you will find the true power of the rings — learn their ways, and use them wisely and well.

This book really pacts quite the punch to add to your fifth edition D&D game. Whether you wish to port over the lore of the Kobold Press Midgard Campaign Setting to your game, play it in that setting, or strip it down and import into your own homebrew.

In your world it might only be the purview of the dwarves or perhaps it’s been mastered by another one of the races in D&D. Dragonborn that embed rings into their scales or gnomes that weave them throughout their hair might be interesting alternatives.

Below you can checkout Nerdarchist Ted’s and my own thoughts on the PDF. Stay tuned we will be looking at Deep Magic: Chaos Magic next.

My name is Dave Friant I've been gaming off and on for over 27 years. But here is the thing it's always been a part of my life I've kept secret and hidden away. I've always been ashamed of the stigma that gaming and my other nerdy and geeky pursuits summon forth. Recently I decided screw it! This is who I am the world be damned. From now on I'm gonna be a geek, nerd, or however folks want to judge me and just enjoy life. Currently one of my greatest joys is introducing my 13 yr old son to table top RPG's.
