Oljatt Century Armor – A Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Artifact Magic Item Collection

Witch Hunter, The Movie, The Nerdarchy Game and the Backstory
DMing a Killer Romance Arc in D&D

magic itemHello Nerdarchist Ted here and I am going to present a new article series written by guest DM on our channel and frequent guest on our video Scott Garibay.  Scott proposed to make this armor in one of my most recent sessions and while the idea was not fitting for our low magic world of ‘Chimes of Discordia’ it was a great concept that Scott wanted to take further.  So without further ado.

The Oljatt Century Armor, an unprecedented collection of 100 artifact level magic items, were built over a 25 year period by the citizens of the city of Oljatt.

This is the first in a series of articles that will define the following for the Oljatt Century Armor –

The History of the Armor, The Capabilities of the Armor, Support Systems for the Armor & The History of the Armor

On the world of Thrycion, the city of Oljatt served as a merchant harbor, allowing ships from across the realm to bring many types of trade goods to market. Kasuff Twensor was a successful copper merchant in Oljatt. His son, Hemarth, served as a Cavalier in the Grey Strikers, a twelve man unit (Oljatt’s City Perimeter Patrol).

Late in the Fall, Padrak Molshier, leader of Oljatt’s City Wall Defense Force was shocked when Bulwark Dungeons and DragonsAgania, her assigned defense area, was besieged by 300 goblins. She rallied her forces quickly and smashed the greenskins with vigor. As her soldiers retired to celebrate that evening at the Swift Kestrel, a fine Oljatt inn, she rode out beyond the city walls to investigate where the goblins had come from.

By the light of Thrycion’s third moon, Padrak found Hemarth Twensor. She discovered his corpse laying across the torn remains of his destrier, surround by the 11 other members of the Grey Strikers. Padrak slammed her gauntleted fist into the moist Thrycion loam and howled her rage at the night.

In the morning, Padrak sat with Kasuff in Manse Twensor and explained to him that his son had fought the goblins to his last breath. She explained the findings of her investigation – that his armor had protected Hemarth against every goblin slash and lunge and Hemarth’s sword had slain over 80 of greenskins. She explained that only Hemarth’s inability to fight continuously had allowed the goblins to overcome him.

Kasuff honored the four nights of mourning that was the tradition of House Twensor, but on the fifth day he commissioned the time and imagination of the greatest wizard in Oljatt, Dalmorg of Bren. Before the city tax collector had made his next seasonal stop to Manse Twensor, Kasuff and Dalmorg of Bren had completed the plans for the Oljatt Century Armor.
