Nerdarchy Talks Growing Up Gaming with Dungeons and Dragons and Other Role-Playing Games
Nerdarchy Talks Growing Up Gaming with Dungeons and Dragons and Other Role-Playing Games As old school gamers the nerdarchy crew has experienced a lot when it comes to gaming over the years. When I was a teenager we’d try out all kinds of games many of which were put out by Gary Gygax and TSR. Everything from Dungeons and Dragons to Star Frontiers or SpyCraft to Gammaworld.
Then there was always other games like Twilight 2000, Gangbusters, Conan the Barbarian, Mayfair’s DC Universe, Marvel Super Heroes RPG, Boot Hill, and many more tabletop role-playing games that I’ve probably forgotten about. In this discussion we talk about what it was like growing up gaming and as gamers. Not to mention how our games have changed over the years and how the gaming table has changed as well.
We even discuss how we are starting to introduce our own kids to our favorite hobby. I’m currently working on putting together a family RPG for my wife and two children. I’ll running them through a 5th edition dungeons and dragons campaign. Feel free to share your own gaming experiences and what it was like for you to grow up gaming.
