Here’s a new encounter to complement the book’s vast selection:

Encounter: The Wishing Pond

Setting: Wilderness, roadside, or deep in a forest clearing.

Description: The party stumbles upon a small, ancient pond with hundreds of gold and silver coins resting at the bottom. A wooden sign nearby reads: “Make a wish. Pay the price.”

What Happens?
If a character throws in a coin and makes a wish, roll 1d6:

d6 Roll Effect
1 The wish is twisted in the worst possible way. A request for wealth might cause their coin pouch to burst, scattering gold into a ravine.
2 A mischievous fey appears and insists on granting the wish—but at an unclear and possibly dangerous cost.
3-4 Nothing happens… immediately. But strange coincidences related to the wish begin happening over the next few days.
5 The wish comes true in a minor, unexpected way (e.g., wishing for strength gives them temporary advantage on Athletics checks).
6 The pond grants exactly what was wished for, but removes something else of equal value from the character’s life.

Twist: If a character tries to take coins from the pond, their reflection reaches out and grabs them, attempting to pull them under. If they succeed in escaping, their reflection remains in the water, watching them whenever they pass a reflective surface. Get a copy here and help out the channel at the same time.

I have practiced with the art of the German long sword with an ARMA group for over 7 years studying the German long sword, sword and buckler, dagger, axe and polearm. By no strecth of the imagination am I an expert but good enough to last longer than the average person if the Zombie apocalypse ever happens. I am an avid fan of board games and dice games with my current favorite board game is Betrayal at House on the Hill.
