That is right. You read it correctly. No More Unpainted Minis. Hero Forge has been the leader in customized 3D miniature printing for quite some time. Their current Full-Color Custom Miniatures with Hero Forge 2.0 Kickstarter takes a leap forward by printing full-color custom tabletop miniatures. The amount of color detail they are able to achieve is off the charts. I was lucky enough to be sent a prototype of one of their full-color custom tabletop miniatures and when I first looked at it I thought it was professionally painted. The Kickstarter is now live and when I look at the page I am just blown away.

Next level customized miniatures

The Hero Forge 2.0 Kickstarter funded in just 20 minutes and they have been unlocked stretch goals all day while I was writing this. At the time I am writing it is over 2000% funded with lots of stretch goals unlocked. Some of the stretch goals unlocked have added color printed tattoos and make up. They have unlocked animal print patterns and hair gradients.

The Kickstarter page describes the process in better detail but the summation is the 3D printing process prints in layers to allow the outer layer to show the necessary colors.

“Hero Forge 2.0 is the platform for the future of 3D printed custom miniatures. Design and print the most epic of characters, not only in stunning detail, but in gorgeous full color.”

Hero Forge will still offer the same options it had before, but added to this is the option to have your customized miniature printed in full color. The same amazing options you have for custom miniature creation are still available and with the Kickstarter they are unlocking more things to make your process even better. The color options unlocked through the stretch goals include scars and tattoos. You are able to get animal patterns for those animalistic minis. There are even options for magical effects, blood splatters or mud splatters.

These features make the minis come alive. They arrive on your doorstep 100% table ready. But since some of you out there might be perfectionist you might want to paint on additional detail or make slight changes and you completely can. These are still your sturdy yet high detail plastic Hero Forge offers, but now with the option of having them printed in the color scheme of your choice. You have to check out the Kickstarter for all the amazing options.

Looking at the Hero Forge 2.0 Kickstarter page, each miniature can either be pinpoint color selected from a wide color palette or take the pre-made color choice based on class choices. It has got me very excited to see this in live time and make some awesome characters of my own.

With the paint options Hero Forge 2.0 offers the ability to “mix your own paint.” Customize more than just the color by adjusting shininess, highlight, mid-light and low-light tones and more. Your hand-crafted digital ‘paints’ will be saved with your character, allowing you to revisit and tweak them to your heart’s content. They have paint choices of whether you are looking for paint, cloth, wood stone or fire. Through stretch goals they have also unlocked glass.

Regardless of whether you paint miniatures of not, if you want a keepsake for your game, if you want the perfectly crafted full-color custom tabletop miniature of your character then Hero Forge 2.0 is the perfect solution.
