D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage brings gamers together

Wizards of the Coast builds on previous events with more celebrity guests and engaging programming to match the phenomenally growing popularity of D&D all over the world. Perhaps especially now while people practice social distancing and public health safety guidelines the game provides a fantastic way to stay connected while weaving incredible stories and creating amazing experiences together online.

D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage features expert storytellers guiding characters played by an amazing cast of talented people to serve as a preview for the newest D&D storyline through live gaming sessions. Along with the fun, D&D Live 2020 aims to raise money for Red Nose Day, a program to help vulnerable children around the world who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. The event begins at 10 a.m. PT June 18 and runs through June 20 at the official D&D website here. You can find the whole schedule for #DnDLive2020 there as well.

Here are some of the planned sessions, each of which gives gamers an opportunity to learn about the new setting and storyline, upcoming products and of course entertaining gameplay.

  • Comedians Brian Posehn, Kevin Sussman and Thomas Middleditch work together to solve problems and hilariously cause new ones
  • WWE Superstars Xavier Woods, Tyler Breeze, Ember Moon, Alexa Bliss and Dio Maddin step into the ring of D&D Principal Rules Designer Jeremy Crawford
  • Deborah Ann Woll leads actors Amy Acker, Janina Gavinkar, Matthew Lillard and Sam Richardson through an improvisational journey of helping folks from a fantasy world not all that different from our own
  • Principal D&D writer Chris Perkins takes players new to D&D like Brandon Routh, Felicia Day, Brett Gelman, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Martin Starr and one time Nerdarchy Live Chat guest David Harbour through adventures meant to showcase the accessibility of the game

Gamers can participate from home too, with four new short D&D Adventurers League adventures. Through a small donation to Red Nose Day D&D fans can sign up for sessions with other players all over the world. Gamers can also participate in Reality RP, a mashup of fantasy storytelling, community engagement and reality TV where they’ll be able to choose characters best suited to help their region.

All proceeds from D&D Live 2020: Roll w/Advantage will benefit Red Nose Day, including commemorative T-shirts highlighting D&D’s partnership with Red Nose Day available for purchase right now here, along with a custom designed adventure families can easily play together available here.
