Episode 55 of Nerdarchy the Podcast Year One

Time for some more monster madness this podcast episode. We dig back into a favorite monster of the Nerdarchy Crew since AD&D.

We’re Talking The Maze Marauding Minotaur |Dungeons and Dragons Monsters

We’re Talking The Maze Marauding Minotaur |Dungeons and Dragons Monsters
The minotaur is a classic monster not only from the various editions of dungeons and dragons but greek mythology. I’ve always been draw to the brutish power of this D&D monster. It was one of the very first monstrous races I ever played in a RPG game. On Krynn the Dragonlance setting minotaurs were one of the player character races. Later in the humanoids handbook for 2nd edition AD&D the minotaurs would surface again. In 3.5 D&D they’d come back yet again with Savage Species another great D&D book about playing monster characters in the game. From behind the DM’s screen I’ve always enjoyed pitting these monsters against my players. Feel free to share your monster stories with us.

E53 YR 1- Duergar Also Known As The Gray Dwarf Dungeons and Dragons Monsters Podcast

Episode 53 of Nerdarchy the Podcast Year One

Time us to delve back into some D&D monsters. This time plumb the depths of the underdark for this edition of the podcast.

Duergar Also Known As The Gray Dwarf Dungeons and Dragons Monsters

Duergar Also Known As The Gray Dwarf| Dungeons and Dragons Monsters We continue with are Dungeons and Dragons Monsters series.

This time we plumbing the depths of the underdark to discuss the Duergar also known as gray dwarves. Gray dwarves are very interesting in their path into the monster manual comes from them being regular dwarves that were enslave by mindflayers.

The duergars captivity twisted them into what they are today. From slaves to slavers and tyrants of the underdark. In a lot of ways the duergar are like their other dwarf cousins. Only far more evil and sinister.

What you think of gray dwarves? Would you allow a gray dwarf player character in your game? We got the drow in the PHB, should the duergar been included as well?

Bullywugs the Frog Legs That Bite Back |Dungeons and Dragons Monsters

Bullywugs the Frog Legs That Bite Back |Dungeons and Dragons Monsters Nerdarchy hops to on our Bullywug discussion. The bullywug stalks from the heart of the swamp mounted on their giant battle frogs.

Nerdarchy answers a viewer’s question about a town caught in the grips of a monster vs monster war between two different bullywug tribes. We also offer new and creative ways to incorporate bullywugs into your D&D campaign.

Whether it’s the bullywug druid or a bullywugs infiltrating the local thieves’ guild there a ton of ways to add these little monsters into your game.

podcast

Welcome to another episode of Nerdarchy Year One Podcast. This time it’s an all monster episode. We delve into one of my favorite Dungeons and Dragons Monsters the Bulette. Hunted By The Ultimate Apex Predator The Bulette| Dungeons and Dragons Monsters

In this episode Nerdarchist Ted and I delve into one of our favorite dungeons and dragons monsters the bulette. Nerdacist Ted even wrote an article on using the bulette in your dungeons and dragons game over at the Nerdarchy website.
This monster is truly terrifying. You can’t sneak up on it, it will sneak up on you, and it’s fast so running away isn’t a good option either. The bulette is also a prime example of early D&D where a lot of the monster concepts ended with probably created in the lab of a mad wizard.
Feel free to let us know what you think of the Bulette or what dungeons and dragons monsters you’d like us to cover next.
