Fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons players have been clamoring for it for years. Diehard fans have homebrewed content for it. Popular streamers like Maze Arcana have embraced it wholeheartedly. And now it’s here. Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron dropped at both the Dungeon Master’s Guild and D&D Beyond, opening the door to a whole new world of adventure. The book provides an overview of the core themes of the D&D campaign setting and rules to connect Eberron to current campaigns. The continent of Khorvaire and the great city of Sharn are covered inside, along with races like kalashtar, shifters and the megapopular warforged, dragonmarks, magic items, and a guide to further reading to learn more about Eberron.

Eberron comes to fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons

Released the same day as the official announcement for another new D&D campaign setting — the D&D Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica — Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron is a guidebook to the beloved campaign setting first introduced in D&D 3.5. Eberron creator Keith Baker is joined by writers Ruty Rutenberg, Jeremy Crawford, Mike Mearls and Kate Welch to bring this incredible setting to fifth edition D&D.

The book is available for PDF download at the Dungeon Master’s Guild, and also in the D&D Beyond marketplace. Character options for those who’ve unlocked the content on DDB are already available for character building using the same sliders where players can select to include Critical Role, Playtest and Homebrew content. Incidentally, there is a slider for Magic: The Gathering content too.

Wizards of the Coast press release for Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica and Wayfinders Guide to Eberron

Wizards of the Coast is psyched to announce the first collaboration on a major product between Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering with Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica releasing everywhere on November 20. The book will contain everything fans need to play D&D in the world-spanning city of Ravnica, the fan-favorite Magic setting populated by ten rival guilds, each with its own ethos and agenda. Wizards is also announcing D&D fans can now return to a magic-heavy noir setting with Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron, a new document written by Keith Baker available online now. The exploration of these settings is a testament to how fan excitement can shape where D&D travels to next.

“Eberron was born in 2002 when Wizards of the Coast launched a worldwide search for a new campaign setting. I imagined a world of swashbuckling adventure and dark fantasy, a place where magic formed the foundation of civilization. Over the course of the next year I worked with a team of amazing artists and game designers to refine and develop that core idea, and the end result was the Eberron Campaign Setting. In the years that followed, a host of authors, designers, and dungeon masters across the world have continued to expand and explore this setting.

This book brings Eberron to the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, providing an overview of the core themes of the setting and the rules to connect them to current campaigns. It explores the continent of Khorvaire and the great city of Sharn. The Wayfinder’s Guide provides ideas and hooks for compelling adventures, as well as an appendix with a list of sources you can use to learn more about the setting.

Bear in mind: this book presents my vision of Eberron. This is the world I run at my own table, and the way that I’ve converted its ideas to the fifth edition rules. All of the material here is presented for playtesting and to spark your imagination. The game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by final game design and editing. They aren’t officially part of the game and aren’t permitted in D&D Adventurers League events. If Wizards of the Coast decides to make this material official, it will be refined based on your feedback and then appear in a D&D book. Beyond that: Eberron is your world as much as it is mine. I hope that this book provides you with inspiration, but don’t be limited by my ideas or decisions. Think of this as something you can build upon, not a codex of absolute law.
