Keep track of it all with Digital Character Sheet

Tabletop Roleplaying Games - Cypher System by Monte Cook
Character Progression - Awarding Experience and Rewarding Players

Recently I had the opportunity to speak with Nathan Thurston, the creator of Digital Character Sheet, in order to learn about his product. Instead of me telling you about it, I thought I’d let him fill you in. My questions for him are in bold, followed by his answers.

What exactly is Digital Character Sheet?

Digital Character Sheet is software that replaces or supplements a Tabletop RPG player’s character sheet. It was created out of a desire to break away from the sometimes hard to fill, awkward form-fillable PDF character sheets, and provide a more elegant and sensible avenue to store character information.

For what platforms is it currently available?

Digital Character Sheet is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Work is happening now to make it available for Android tablets as well.

Why should players use Digital Character Sheet?

digital character sheetCore features include:

Custom nameable fields and list entries, in order to be as system agnostic as possible.

Unlimited space for spell text, skill text, anything you want to put in!

An Equipment/Inventory tab which functions as a quick and easy way to equip and unequip items.

A tab for a portrait and bio.

The entire program is designed to make your information quick to find and in sensible places.

I want the program to be an indispensable tool in the online gamer’s arsenal, and a reliable backup for storing player’s physical sheets permanently in the digital domain.

Where can we purchase Digital Character Sheet?

It can be purchased at https://qualitymix.itch.io/digital-character-sheet for $3.99 .

What’s planned for the future for Digital Character Sheet?

Presently, it has all the features I want and need (save for a few fixes that are in the works). All future development is entirely dependent on user feedback. I can respond fairly quickly to simple requests, usually being able to hammer out an update within a few days to a week.

What other gaming-related projects are you working on?

Brainstorming and designing has begun for a program that will aid in the game master’s job of tracking initiative, tracking health, keeping notes, and accessing cheat sheets quickly and sensibly.

So, there you have it. If you want a quick and easy way to access your character without having to carry around a folder stuffed with papers or without having to fool with PDF sheets, you should check out Digital Character Sheet.

Would my Google Chromebook be able to run this software? But to begin a M&M campaign and it would save me a lot of time as a new player.
