The king makes the girl an offer she cannot refuse!
Rumplestiltskin Grimm’s Fairy Tales story text:
Once there was a miller who was poor, but who had a beautiful daughter. Now it happened that he had to go and speak to the king, and in order to make himself appear important he said to him, I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold. The king said to the miller, that is an art which pleases me well, if your daughter is as clever as you say, bring her tomorrow to my palace, and I will put her to the test.
The daughter went before the king and was terrified by father’s claim for surely she could not do such a thing as spin straw into gold. And was terrified more so when the king threatened her life if she could not.

I had mentioned in prior article about how I was going to start using my three dimensional illustration style to create fantasy/fairy tale art, well here is the first effort in a series of Rumplestiltskin images brought to you by those grim bards of a bygone era, collectively known as Grimm’s Fairy Tales. This image was made with hand-crafted art dolls and props that were posed and arranged, lit and photographed. In case you’re wondering what the term art doll might mean, it pretty much refers to any figurine a person could make that’s much more to be put on display than to be handled by children as a toy- they function more as objects of art. -Nerdarchist Ryan (a.k.a. illworx Illustrations)
