I am building a Dungeons & Dragons 5E Adventure (Ulyain Village) on Youtube video by video (click here to watch). The Barkrager is a creature that inhabits the forest surrounding Ulyain Village, and the creature is presented here for use in your next Dungeons & Dragons 5E game.
Barkrager Origin: Barkragers are indigenous to the dark forest that surrounds the Ulyain Village. The Ulyain set out their dead for the Barkragers to eat. Barkragers, aggressive predators, will not attack any native of the Ulyain Village. Barkragers eat fish and boar and forest berries as their primary source of sustenance. Barkragers found beyond the area surrounding the Ulyain Village are the children of Barkragers that have been lured out of their natural habitat by evil druids and servants of chaos. Barkragers are quite rare (around Ulyain Village and beyond).
Barkrager Description: Barkragers are slightly larger than Black Bears and look like Black Bears with the following exceptions. Barkragers have six legs and no tail. Barkragers have two sets of antlers that grow out of their back. Barkragers have plates (made of the same substance as their antlers) that cover their eyes.
AC: 16 (Natural Armor)
HP: 40 (6d10+10)
Speed: 40 ft., climb 30 ft.
STR 18 DEX 16 CON 14 INT 06 WIS 08 CHA 10
Passive Perception: 13
Challenge Rating: 3
Keen Smell: Barkrager has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Multiattack: Barkrager makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.
Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 2) piercing damage.
Claws: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (4d6 + 2) slashing damage.
Bark Surge: Barkragers wander forests and occasionally go into a brief rage during which the Barkrager scratches a tall, hearty tree. Going forward the Barkrager can instantly teleport to that tree and emerge from the tree as though it was using the Charger Feat. Barkragers can use Bark Surge 7 times per day.
Bark Pierce: Barkragers can use their antlers to magically peirce a foe. Unless their armor grants 15+ AC, a foe struck by a Bark Peirce immediately gains the Paralyzed condition for 15 seconds. Magical Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 2)
I hope the Barkrager serves as an interesting event for your game. Please let me know right here in the comments or on Nerdarchy’s Facebook page if the Barkrager interacts with your Player Characters in a unique way. Thank you.
