To Game or Not to Game?

Card games, tabletop games, role playing games, they’re all group activities. Even video games often nowadays are played with others, either online or on the couch. Still, for some, gaming of all sorts can be a lonely business if they don’t have that special someone to share it with.

You hear about those online dating sites, but they don’t seem right for you. You check them out and they’re full of beautiful people. Or creeps. And everyone seems to enjoy the same things. Walking on the beach. Walking in the park. Walking the dog. There’s usually lots of walking. And then there are the people who have their who life planned out, or the people who have a laundry list a mile long of all the things their prospective significant other absolutely must have.

It gets tiring, and sometimes frustrating.

But there’s help available. Believe it or not, there are more than a few dating sites out there which specifically cater to the nerd and geek crowds. Below are a handful of them, but not an extensive list. Check them out. Maybe one of them is right for you. And maybe Cupid will shoot an arrow your way (which might gain him a few XP, after all). If you don’t find what you’re looking for, keep looking, for there are plenty of other dating sites out there.

GK2GK

“Han will never know of our love.”

According to this dating site, it is the “largest online dating” site for everyone who considers themselves a nerd or geek or dork. Membership is free and makes use of a matching system that compares profiles and interests, allowing like-minded individuals to find one another and check each other out.

SoulGeek

Fans of gaming, anime, comics, sci-fi, horror and more might want to check out this dating site. With videos, music, blogs and forums, SoulGeek offers plenty for any nerd looking for love. Once a week SoulGeek sends out e-mails to let you know about new members who might match what you are looking for in a new love.

Trek Passions

Yes, there is a dating site just for you Star Trek fans. This is a site which seems to take “live long and prosper” seriously. This is another free site, and it offers personals and a social networking community. In case you’re not a Trek fan (Kaaaahn!), don’t worry, because as long as you’re a fan of Star Wars, Asimov, or science fiction in general, you’re more than welcome at Trek Passions.

Nerd Passions

Part of the Passions Network of more than 200+ niche dating sites, Nerd Passions is backed up by an experienced crew that seems to know what it’s doing. If you don’t find you want at Nerd Passions, you might want to check out Pirates Passions, Ninja Passions, or Superhero Passions.

Gamer Dating

You video game nerds don’t have to feel left out, either, because this site was built by video game fans for video game fans. Not only can you be social here, but you can build a video game library of your favorites, allowing you to show off and connect with others who might enjoy the same passions as yourself.

Okay. That should be enough sites to keep you busy for a while. Just remember to have fun and keep your eyes open for that special someone.

Just remember, when you find them, tell them to Stay Nerdy!
