Celebrating Zombie Orpheus Culture at ZOECon – Convention Coverage Part 2

ZOECon 2018 has come and gone about three weeks ago. The memories are still able to cause this old descendant of the Vikings to smile. Nonetheless, Asa Kinney and I got the opportunity to interview several members of the Zombie Orpheus Entertainment and Dead Gentlemen crew. Most of these interviews ended up on camera, and that is exactly what I am here to tell you about today. Check out the videos we shot of these interviews below. Sorry I was already falling to “Con Crud” but thankfully Asa stayed healthy.

First on the chopping block is Gabriel Gonda, the new director for ZOE who is making big waves with his work on Dark Dungeons and Strowlers. Gabriel was amazingly fun and friendly to talk to. He talks a lot with his hands, which in my experience shows someone with a Type A personality who really gets passionate about their work. From my experience in theater, this is exactly the kind of director I would enjoy working with. Let’s see what he has to say for himself.

Our second interview caused me to fanboy a bit, and I had managed to talk to actor Nathan Rice briefly the day before. This was the first time I was able to sit down and talk with the Nathan, famous for his roles in The Gamers series, Demon Hunters, and so much more. From his humor that reaches multiple styles, to his prolific skill at improv, Nathan has been a joy to witness. Nathan is a prime example of how approachable the ZOE cast and crew are. Check it out below and see what Nathan himself says.

The final interview Asa and I had the chance to kind of become something else. I had arranged an interview with Brian Lewis, but then suddenly we had Samara Lerman and Luke Amundson joining us as well. I won’t lie, I was not prepared for the group interview and had to think on my feet a tad. Wish I could say I did better but Asa did great. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. Next time I won’t be so flabbergasted, I swear. Either way, Brian, Samara, and Luke were amazingly fun to talk to. Their comments on how viewers like you or I can participate really got me thinking of possibilities. Maybe you will be inspired too? Watch the interview and find out.

All righty, those were our three interviews. As you may have noticed there was a fair bit of talk on how you can create content. Perhaps you wish to get involved in the world of magic in Strowlers? I most certainly am, though a part of me wants to get into a bit of Demon Hunter hijinks. The world is big enough for both shows, perhaps you could dabble in both? I wholeheartedly encourage you to get those creative juices flowing, and when your project is live, you can even look into making it canon. A living, breathing, ever-expanding world with all of us contributing. Sounds grand does it not?
