Board Games in Review – Smash Up –Robots and Tricksters
Nerdarchist Ted here and you heard me right. Today we are going to be talking about Robots and Tricksters in the wonderful board game Smash Up! If you are a fan of this series you will know that there are quite a few articles but this is a big game and I want to do it justice.
If you are just finding this article dig though the series and get well versed in the Smash Up world as I explore the different factions and give hints on using these tips to get a one up on your opponent when you play this incredible board game.
Smash Up Robots
Robots hints – Robots attack in hoards and in here it is just as true. They come in a faction deck with a staggering 18 minions and 2 actions. And of those minions 11 have the possibility of letting you get more minions on the board so play them wisely to maximize your advantage. With only 2 actions in the whole deck you are going to sit back and let your opponent control the action game. You also get six cards that let you draw more cards, which with all minion placement you have going on you needed to keep your hand full of options.
Robots work well with any deck full of minions. Anything that will allow for a bonus to all minions is better. The cybernetic theme builds true so mixing them with Apes or Dinosaurs can spell a quick victory if you play your cards right. Avoid any decks that focus too much on actions and you should be fine.
Smash Up Tricksters
Tricksters hints – As the name implies, they are tricksters. They are indeed tricky. Every card you have, 10 actions and 10 minions, gets to accomplish more than any other deck. All of your minions come equipped with cool abilities. As manipulators you will control the battle field. All of your actions stop your opponent from playing cards or cancel them before they can happen.
Mix these guys up with any other manipulator and you are sure to spell success, in your opponents blood. Combine these guys with Aliens, pirates or ninjas for the best results
